The story behind the boot camp:I remember it like it was yesterday. Spring 1999 - I had my “coming to Jesus moment” while tears were streaming down my face.
I dug a hole in my Father’s fresh grave in order to place a copy of my newly released book, Breaking Through Your Business Barriers! as a physical symbol of this destiny-defining moment. It WAS TIME TO TAKE A STAND! Squinting through my tear-filled lashes I saw the brightly colored book cover reflect the sun and act like a kaleidoscope; revealing snippets of my past (a series of events that shaped me to who I was at the moment) and dashes of my future filled with hope and purpose. This is a bitter-sweet moment to be sure. The Holy Spirit was clear: Life was too short to WAIT on my dreams. I mean, a year ago, Dad wasn’t sick - and now? He was dancing in the Heavens with Jesus. He was too young… I WAS TOO YOUNG to have him move from this life to the next. Letting the lies of the enemy take control of my time, energy, finances, focus and purpose was now a thing of the past! It took me over a year to write and publish a little handbook! Something that should have taken a weekend AT MOST was delayed, dragged out, and deterred by thoughts of:
There was POWER in my TESTIMONY! Through my story, my circumstances, and my life experiences – I could help others move past their hurts and torments. I had the truth! Jesus was the ONLY way to let go of the past once and for all. HE had the power to heal, to bring peace, to install joy, wisdom, and wealth. I couldn’t believe how many people were out there, like me, who didn’t know… even if they KNEW Jesus, they didn’t know that they could LIVE FREE! It’s been 14 years and 37 books (of my own)… and I have been sharing all I know about writing, publishing and marketing books. As you can imagine, I have grown professionally, personally and spiritually within that time frame. I have help tens of thousands get educated – because I happen to believe that a book is a life changer. A book is never really a book - it is a lead generator for your business or ministry; it is a healing agent for yourself and others; it is a purpose; it is a cash-flow machine; it is a prelude to your brand; it is a sales agent; it is an information-packed business card; it is a tool, we as Christians can use, to build credibility and give the Glory to God! I wish I could say that EVERYONE took my advice and wrote their book. The truth is, no matter how much enthusiasm or passion one has – it isn’t enough to sustain everyone through the ‘working stage’ of the book process. It can be daunting and overwhelming if you try to do it by yourself. This fact deeply grieved me deeply over the years. I watched people struggle with their ‘inner terrorist’ thoughts (lies of the enemy and of the flesh)… I knew my business was a ministry so I would help people as they came to me. I truly feel blessed that God gave me a chance to lift others into ‘seeing themselves through the eyes of Christ’. What I found was an interesting dilemma. The people I helped, who actually DID all of the WORK set out before them found much success. The frustration was that the Christians I worked with seemed to have something MORE hanging over their heads - than the non-Christians did. It was MORE difficult for them – for some reason - to believe: that they can make money with their book; that their purpose can be displayed through this vehicle; that they are meant to BE SOMEBODY and DO SOMETHING HUGE with their life! As is my custom, I went to the Lord with this pain on my heart. WHY? WHY? When WE are supposed to be so blessed! WHAT is going on Lord? The Lord revealed the fact that we (as Christians) have a very SPIRITUAL war over our purpose. We all know that the enemy doesn’t want us to move forward into our business! After all, OUR business is God’s business right? One day, not long ago, in prayer – I knelt at the feet of Jesus - and the winds of change blew through my heart. I KNEW the unrest in my heart and that I was walking through ‘transition’. You know the place. It feels like you are on the verge of something big, but you don’t know what it is. You almost feel like you are walking in limbo. God is there - but everything you used to do, doesn’t seem to work. The Holy Spirit draws us closer at these times. Today was the day, my promotion came clearly. It was time, once again, to take a STAND! The Lord revealed to me that He was gathering his messengers around the world. We, like an army with our Helmut of salvation, Breastplate of righteousness, Sword of the Spirit, Belt of truth and Sandals of peace were to LINK ARMS with one another - and back the enemy up! (OH, I could go on here, but that is for another time!) Together- we will spread the Good News to the nations of the world. Through our partnership (you and I) we can fund Kingdom purposes, take care of our own families, and make an impact for the message of Christ! He told me it was time for me to gather MY GOD-GIVEN FLOCK. It was time for me to change my business model and work directly with people of purpose. Christians needed to be given a ‘hand up’. Today I got my first sponsorship for my book called Simply Going Green... In 3 Years or Less. Thank you SO much for showing me how to do this, Kathleen! I am so happy, I am doing a dance!!!!
